Uncle Visits!!!

Spence came out to visit, Miles thought he was the greatest thing that has ever walked into our house! He would just sit and stare at him, then if he caught his eye, he would get shy, AND he thought Uncle Spence was Hillarious!

Spence wanted to eat at Thurman's while he was here, you always expect a wait, so when they told us it would be an hour and a half we were not surprised! However, we were a little surprised when we got seated nearly THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER!!

if you are going to wait that long for anything, you may as well make it a Thurman's burger! They do not disappoint even after an OUTRAGEOUSLY long wait.

Little Miles was such a trooper! We didn't get home till after 11!!! So Late!!

The Nydeggers Visit

The Highlight of our Labor day weekend was a visit from Brett's parents (from SLC), and Brett's brother and sister-in-law and their their 4 Boys (from Chicago)!

This is Eli
We Took the whole family down to Hocking Hills to do a little hiking.
One of the hikes had standing water, and neither Rusty nor Isaac could resist the temptation, and both jumped right in, and Eli shortly followed.

This is James, he forgot his shoes, so he got a free ride for all of the hikes!

This is Danny, Katie and baby Sam

Brett and his dad were able to get some "man stuff" done and they installed a celing light in a couple rooms upstairs that didn't have one!

It is always so fun to have visitors! COME BACK SOON!

Surgery Tomorrow...

Hi Bloggers! Tomorrow (7/2/09) I will be Be having upper Jaw surgery!
Here is some info:

Orthognathic surgery is performed by Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons to correct a wide range of minor and major skeletal and dental irregularities, including the misalignment of jaws and teeth, which, in turn, can improve chewing, speaking and breathing. While the patient's appearance may change slightly as a result of their surgery, orthognathic surgery is performed to correct functional problems. Some of the conditions that may indicate the need for corrective jaw surgery:difficulty chewing, or biting food difficulty swallowing chronic jaw or jaw joint (TMJ) pain and headache excessive wear of the teeth open bite (space between the upper and lower teeth when the mouth is closed) unbalanced facial appearance from the front, or side facial injury or birth defects receding chin protruding jaw inability to make the lips meet without straining chronic mouth breathing and dry mouth sleep apnea

My surgery is being done to correct an open bite. The surgery will be performed under general anesthesia in a hospital. Surgery will last right around 4 hours. My Surgeon will section my upper Jaw in to three pieces, reshape, and reposition the jawbones, then surgical plates, screws, wires and rubber bands will be used to hold your jaws in their new positions. All incisions will be made inside the mouth to reduce visible scarring.

After surgery, I will be on a liquid diet for 10 days while I am "wired shut" after that I will start with soft foods and slowly transition to a normal diet. I will be taking three weeks off work(which I am actually really excited about!). The initial healing phase is about six weeks, complete healing of the jaws takes between nine and 12 months.

Here is a little diagram that shows my situation
This first picture shows how my teeth are open in the front

And this second image shows the cuts and the plates the are placed to close my bite.
My Mom will becoming out on Monday to help take care of me, which I am SO grateful for. I am nervous, but ready to get this all over with! I will post some pictures of the recovery process, I am sure it will not be pretty! Wish me luck! I am sure it is going to be the BEST 4th of July weekend ever!

mom and spen come to visit....

Last month I had lots of fun visitors, but I never got around to posting about it, so here it goes!
My baby brother came to wrestle in the National tournament in Akron, He did a great Job! He even won me a metal!!! My mom came with him this year, so it was extra fun!

After cutting weight all week to make weight for the Tournament, after it was over Spence was looking for some real good eats! He had heard about the burgers at the Thurman Cafe on a TV show called Man Vs. Food. So we set out to also conquer on of the BiGgesT burgers in the country.

We waited a little over 2 hours to get in to this place, but it was all worth it, gust wait untill you see the Burgers!

In fact they were so good that my cousin Anne also came out to get in on the action(well that and purse shopping)

Check it out!

Here are the Proud owners of Two "Thermanators" They have their work cut out for them.

Not to disappoint, They got the Job done no problem.

After that Spence and Anne figured their work was done here in Columbus, so they left, but Mom stuck around to finish off the week.

My boss gave me a gift card to a REALLY nice restaurant, so one of the last nights she was here we went out for a really nice night on the town, and ate at Cameron Mitchell's Ocean Club
What a fun trip.

Bob and Marge come to visit

Over spring break this year Brett's parents came out to see us. We were able to go up to Kirtland and see all of the neat church history that Ohio has to offer.
It sure was nice to have them out here, and rusty really misses his new pal Grandpa Bob!

my special visitors

Last month we had two very special visitors!! Spencer, my little brother and his friend Kade came out to stay with us and travel up to Akron to wrestle in the FILA national championships!! The boys got invited to go on a recruitment tour at Ohio State University. They met some of the big Ohio State champs including several olympic contenders, but even cooler than that, we got to literally drive the ford focus into the stadium and walk around, being the only four people in there!! And as if that wasn't enough excitement for the weekend, both boys place in Greco, Spencer taking first place and Kade taking Third.

This is a pic of spence wrestling taken with my cellphone, since we of course forgot our camera!!! CONGRATS NATIONAL CHAMP WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!!
