Last Fall

It was cold early this morning, and it smells like fall.... It just made me think about how pretty the trees were up in Kirtland Last october when we went up there to see the church history sites. I never posted pictures, so i figured, better late then never right??

The temple was so pretty with all of the changing leaves around.

This is the most beautiful tree that i have ever seen!!!

The Boys had fun too

The Girls weren't the only ones to have a fun weekend!! Brett and some dental buddies went up to Michigan to cheer on the Utes at the Utah Michigan game. When asked what Utes were, Brett Said "They are indians that Kill Wolverines." And they did!!!

The Lion King

This weekend a group of the "dental wives" got together and wend to see Disney's Broadway production of Lion King! Our seats were awesome, we were on the main floor, like 20 rows back, and I was lucky enough to have the seats directly in front of me vacant, not just one row, but two!! I think that was the first Broadway that I have ever been to that I could actually see the whole thing!!
Here is the whole group all dressed up and ready for a much needed night out on the town!!

Rusty flashback

Rusty loves to play in the snow. He runs laps around the house and loves to dive into the snow banks. If you can't tell by his milk mustache, he loves to eat it too.
This picture is a few months old. As you can see he loves to sit on laps. He can be perfectly content doing whatever it is he does (hunt for socks, flip-flops, anything that squeaks , lion etc.) but as soon as you sit down, he runs right over and plops down on your lap.
This is Brett's favorite picture of him. He loves his floppy ears and loose skin around his neck and face.
He was a "hot dog" last Halloween. He didn't like to wear the costume much, but he got used to it seeing as he didn't have a choice.

Flash back Friday: My Lasso

Last February I had surgery on my sinuses and deviated septum. It was my first real reality check about living away from home. Brett had a test the morning of my surgery, so he dropped me off at the hospital at like six in the morning. I checked my self in, and they took me to their pre-surgery department, where I waited for almost 3 hours until they were ready to take me In. Different nurses kept asking me if I wanted them to take my jewelry to who ever was waiting for me, or that they could go get whoever was waiting for me to keep me company etc. and every time I had to tell them that I came alone, I started to cry... I was just a Little, home sick, nervous and scared!!! Apparently I was a little loopy coming out after surgery. After I woke up, I had no idea where I was, and I had the nurses running around the waiting room, looking for my mom, who I was sure was there waiting for me, until finally one of the nurses looked at my paper work, and told me that no one came to the hospital with me. Then the poor nurse had to explain to me that I was in fact in Ohio, not in Utah. Luckily my friend Jami showed up shortly after, and helped clear things up and calm me down. She was nice enough to come to the hospital after she got off of work to wait with me until Brett got out of school. She was lucky enough to see me at my worst. And she still likes me, what a good friend!! Most of you know me a s a BLUNT and often tactless person. these special traits are exaggerated with a little general anesthetic in my system. Jami has plenty of funny stories to tell about stupid/rude/nonsensical things i had to say that afternoon. My recovery was a little rough, this picture says it all. The pain pills they gave me also made me a little loopy/out of it, as you can tell by the glazed over eyes. I had to wear this bandage under my nose to catch the "drainage." I called it my Lasso, apparently on pain pills that made perfect sense to me...... My Judgement was clearly compromised seeming I let someone take these pictures of me.....

Thanks to everyone that helped take care of me, especially Brett. He did such a great job taking care of me!! It was nice to find out first hand that when I really need my hubby he is willing to step up to the plate and get the job done!! Boy am I glad that is over with!!!

Summer is slipping away

This week the weather has been on the cool side, you can feel the fall weather slipping in. I am glad to get out of this heat, but it makes me sad that summer is almost over. (and we didn't even make it to the beach this summer!!) I just wanted to post some of my favorite summer pictures, these pics are taken in Newport beach.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

As many of you know, brett and I went to Utah last month to surprise My Mom on her 50th birthday! I know that this post is about a month late, but better late than never!! We decided that we would be hiding in a box at the surprise party, so amelia and I picked this lovely refrigerator box up at Lowes the morning of the party. Although It May appear to you all that I am blonde and Amelia is Not, don't let her fool you... yes we both were sure that we would be able to fit the box in her jeep. we might be stupid but we are very innovative. but usually not that efficient. Right after I thought I was done tying the box to the roof of the car, the mexicans that we were parked next to (after sitting there the whole time watching us do it,) got out and untied everything and re did it, It kind of pissed me off, I thought I had done a Fantastic job!
So we got the box to the party and Jumped out and nearly sent my mother to an early grave!
The party was great and the food was great! thanks to everyone that helped!!
