The Fire Place is done... Almost

After many hours of hard work by LOTS of people, The mantel is DONE (well it is 99 percent done, we still have to glue on the decal.) This post is a little recap on how it became BEAUTIFUL!

This is what we started with when we bought the house...
Here are the bones...
The design is my dad's Brain child, we would have never come up with something so pretty, cool and awesome on our own! Here is what we have, after going to 4 lumbar stores, and then back to some again, and again... cutting, and recutting, caulking, filling nail holes, screwing, measuring, and MORE SANDING!

Here is Brett painting his little heart out, Brett would describe it as the "worst thing he has ever done." (he must have a really easy life) but it was really tedious! here was the process...
Sand, caulk, prime, sand, prime, paint, paint, caulk and touch up. Thats 283 dental teeth, 13 different layers of crown molding! But it was worth it, not to mention the great deals we got on the main pieces of molding, only ten dollars for the two main pieces, which saved us about 200 dollars!

Heere is the finished product, and it looks absolutely PERFECT!!

Thanks mom, dad and Brett!!!
