Spring Break Hocking Hills

Last week was Brett's Spring Break, after several BoTcHed sets of travel plans, we decided to go to Hocking Hills and Camp. We were able to take Rusty with us which was really fun!
We were really roughin it, we made all of our own food, we even bought a dutch oven and put it to good use.

Just like any good camp out we roasted weenies, toasted marshmellows, and we made scones one of the mornings.

We did all of the hikes down there that allowed dogs. They are all so beautiful!

We found a hollowed out tree, and thought what a perfect place for a pic, so I got in...

And don't ask us how we got this pic, but Rusty, always trying to assimilate, got in too...

It is amazing all of the beautiful sites down there and what is really cool about them is usually the hikes are only between a half mile and a mile, some are even handicap accessible!

Several of the hikes had water, and rusty just couldn't help himself, he just had to hop in every body of water we found, waterfalls, ponds or puddles....

We all had a great time... especially Rusty

Spencer won his first two matches in state yesterday. It was no easy task, but he came through! Here are the pics from the first match

The matches were not won with out cost
there were bloody noses, head butting, scratches from head to toe, a black eye and a VERY swollen nose

He one the first match 2 to 1! A very close match.

The second match was a real nail bitter! He won 3 to 2 in triple overtime. It was literally the most intense match I have ever seen.

They even took the ref down in the process. This pic was taken right before he hit the mat!

I take partial credit, I have been prepping him for his meets all week!

Good Job Speen We are so proud of you! He wrestles one match today, if he wins he will be on to the finals. Stay tuned...

I am in SLC visiting my parents this week... and THIS is Dakota, and THIS is the look he gets on his fluffy little face right before he is about to do the deed........ With that little problem aside, all else is going well on my trip to SLC stay tuned for more updates....

This Saturday was Brett's 27th Birthday. We had a great day filled with Strawberry waffles, basketball, golf, scotch pancakes, seafood, birthday cake, and a Movie!!

Hocking Hills

It's cold today, too cold for a walk, and as my crazy dog runs tireless cirlces around my house, my thoughts drift...I ask myself "Does this dog ever tire?" and just then I remember, "yes, I think he got tired once, a really long time ago."Last fall we took Rusty up to Hocking Hills to do some hiking. He absolutely loved it, it was a sensory overload. I think he sniffed every square inch of the trails we walked.

We spent about two hours hiking...and eventually he got so worn out that every time we stopped he took a brief second to look around....(as shown below)

And then he sprawled out in the biggest puddle of mud that he could find!

What a fun day....

Happy Birthday to ME

Last friday (the 16th) was my 24th Birthday! I tend to celebrate the week before... and the week after my birthday, so the week started out with a special Birthday breakfast at Kara's house. I didn't have to work on my birthday, which is a birthday present in and of itself! I had a whole day full of fun! Brett made me breakfast in bed, then I went back to sleep. Later on some of my friends took me to lunch at Panera Bread!

After Brett got home from school we went over to Easton (a big out door mall in Columbus)
Brett, Jami, Landon and Kara met us there to eat at the Cheesecake factory!

I received lots of wonderful gifts, and I ate lots of wonderful food (including tuxedo cheesecake!) This is me, Jami and Baby girl Anderton.

After dinner we went to the movies to see Bride Wars, which by the way was really cute!!! The perfect end to a perfect night!

It was such a good BiRtHdAy I even got to blow out candles TwIcE!!!

The sunday after my birthday Jami made me a cake and invited some people over for cake and Ice cream!
